Érudit welcomes with great interest the Open access policy for the dissemination of research unveiled on April 1, 2019 by the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ). This policy requires that the research results funded by the Fonds be freely available no later than 12 months after their publication.
This policy is part of a massive international movement towards Open Access, a practice that promotes visibility and knowledge sharing, and aims to reduce the influence of major commercial publishers in scientific fields.
Since its foundation in 1998, Érudit has been rooted in open access and supports more than 140 scientific journals in disseminating their content as openly as possible, all the while guaranteeing them stable and sustainable financial support. Thus, all articles published on the erudit.org platform comply with the requirements of the FRQ’s Open Access Policy, but also with most international policies.
