University libraries from Harvard, Yale, Duke, University of Washington, University of Vermont and the New York Public Library (NYPL) have renewed their subscription to Érudit for a third year in a row. This agreement with the prestigious libraries allows 195 000 american students, teachers and researcher (in addition to all inhabitants from New York City, through the subscription of the NYPL) to access the entirety of journals disseminated on Érudit platform.
The renewal of their arrangements confirms an increasing interest for Érudit’s corpus in the United States. An interest which is also shown by the country’s number of hits on Érudit platform, US consultations ranking third after Canada and France. In 2015, articles disseminated on Érudit have been consulted more than 3,3 millions times in the United States.
The agreement between the libraries and Érudit was concluded with the mediation of the CIFNAL, an organization related to the Center for Research Libraries. The aims of CIFNAL are to widen the range of documentation resources available to researchers, to strengthen the support to French studies, as to increase their degree of importance given.
By promoting the development of agreements in Canada and abroad, Érudit is proud to contribute towards the influence of French and bilingual scholarly journals in social sciences and humanities.
