Érudit-CRKN 2015-2017: A Canadian Partnership for Open Access
Érudit signed this winter an important partnership with the consortium of Canadian universities CRKN for the support of the Canadian scholarly publishing and its dissemination in open access. This partnership brings together over 100 scholarly journals and 53 university libraries across Canada and offers an innovative model for funding research outputs in open access.
Although this collaboration between Érudit and CRKN is only just starting, the project has already been so successful that it has aroused the interest of several international organizations.
LIBER 2015
In this context, we will have the chance and the opportunity to present this partnership on June 25 in London as part of the LIBER annual conference, the Association of European Research Libraries:
Joanie Lavoie, Operations Manager for Érudit , and Monica Ward, Senior Content & Licensing Officer for CRKN, will present the perspectives of the two organizations involved in the partnership, outlining their common goals, objectives and strategies, as well as the differing outlooks of libraries and publishers.
Developing international partnership for promoting Open Access
We will continue our journey with a series of meetings with European organizations promoting open access. In England, we will have the pleasure to meet with the Unlatched Knowledge team, which promotes joint funding for open access books, JISC, which provides digital solutions for the English education and research communities, as well as the prestigious British Library .
Finally, we will present our innovative partnership with CRKN at the French university libraries consortium Couperin, with whom we are already working to promote the scholarly journals disseminated on our platform.
